Unitl June 9th

Outsideleft favorite Greta Alfaro's London show, I Will Not Hesitate To React Spiritually, has rolled into the Roaming Room, which has rolled into the defunct Lambeth County Court building.

Greta of course, takes over in her own inimitable way, as Greta does. She's repurposed entire buildings before, Comedias a Honor y Gloria filled an architecturally glorious former cockfighting hall with glasses of red wine as Greta invited passers by to pop in to take pot shots using a Glock filled with live ammo at the tiered inebriants. It was a visceral bloody mess. And no wonder, I am lethal myself with a gun that feels like a toy and a static target at six feet or so.

In Lambeth, I Will Not Hesitate To React Spiritually opened on May 1st and has been extended, by popular demand, as they say, until June 9th.

Using real documents from a case previously brought before the court, with the names and dates redacted, Greta adds film, photographs and other artefacts, and an intertwining of fact and fiction that is constantly unsettling. I Will Not Hesitate has been described as Kafka-esque as Greta creates a fiction around evidence so that our experience as the audience is one of mystery and uncertainty...

Once again, Greta Alfaro delights with her distraught vision.

HELP OUTSIDELEFT

Outsideleft exists on a precarious no budget budget. We are interested in hearing from deep and deeper pocket types willing to underwrite our cultural vulture activity. We're not so interested in plastering your product all over our stories, but something more subtle and dignified for all parties concerned. Contact us and let's talk. [HELP OUTSIDELEFT]

WRITE FOR OUTSIDELEFT

If Outsideleft had arms they would always be wide open and welcoming to new writers and new ideas. If you've got something to say, something a small dank corner of the world needs to know about, a poem to publish, a book review, a short story, if you love music or the arts or anything else, write something about it and send it along. Of course we don't have anything as conformist as a budget here. But we'd love to see what you can do. Write for Outsideleft, do. [SUBMISSIONS FORM HERE]
