Cheiron Coelho

After attending Melbourne University in Australia, our roving International columnist, Cheiron Coelho, traveled extensively for two years throughout Asia, African and Europe.

In 1986, Cheiron opened a restaurant on the beach in Goa, India. An instant hit, the restaurant enjoyed great success until the early 90s when, after wooing and marrying his Danish girlfriend, together they relocated to Aarhus, Denmark.

Coelho moved to Copenhagen in 1996 and began a career as a writer with the now defunct news magazine, Rapporten, where he was their first and last foreign editor.

Subsequently, he developed an award winning career writing documentaries for television, culminating in a European best prize award in 2001 at the Parma Documentary Film Festival in Italy. To date, approximately 80 million people have seen the piece and Eurosport showed it a record 4 times.

He has covered events for television and print media the world over. Most recently he worked with the BBC on a project in Ecuador, and for numerous TV stations from around the world. And has also taught film scripting and screen writing skills at courses for Superchannel.dk.

Currently, he is in the throes of writing a film script to be filmed by a Danish director for a German production company and when done will move one to direct a new reality TV series.

HELP OUTSIDELEFT

Outsideleft exists on a precarious no budget budget. We are interested in hearing from deep and deeper pocket types willing to underwrite our cultural vulture activity. We're not so interested in plastering your product all over our stories, but something more subtle and dignified for all parties concerned. Contact us and let's talk. [HELP OUTSIDELEFT]

WRITE FOR OUTSIDELEFT

If Outsideleft had arms they would always be wide open and welcoming to new writers and new ideas. If you've got something to say, something a small dank corner of the world needs to know about, a poem to publish, a book review, a short story, if you love music or the arts or anything else, write something about it and send it along. Of course we don't have anything as conformist as a budget here. But we'd love to see what you can do. Write for Outsideleft, do. [SUBMISSIONS FORM HERE]
