"PixieVic's poems are suffused with honesty, bravery, warmth and colour. They are poems from a woman who has come through some stuff, still wears the scars, but is alive and kicking!" - Deborah Alma aka The Emergency Poet

When we first saw Pixievic perform she restored our faith in the ability adult poetry to retain its impact long after the performance ended. Her tales resonated and effected us deeply.

Pixivic's sardonic and sometimes pottymouthed deconstruction of failing relationships and her humorous skewering of what she found upon returning to the dating scene quickly proved popular in local poetry circles, and her poems became something of a survivalists guide to relationships and online dating.

We're committed swooning fans. If there was a loyalty card ours would be fully stamped up.

Pixievic's first book has now been published, PixieKisses collects many of the poems written in the past 18 months into a spiky user friendly volume as Pixievic journeys from the beginnings of looking for love, the joys of physical love, reveals hidden desires & needs, to finally dealing with the heartbreak and confusion that the end of relationships hold.

To help the book on its way there's an unmissable launch event at the ORT Cafe featuring Pixievic and a veritable who's who of local poets and musicians, including Steve Pottinger, Mike Bethel, Dik Guru, Jack Arkell, Richard Archer, Mike Gates, Marianne Burgess, Ann Jones & Daz Dolczeck, Glyn Phillips as Armitage Spode, Carys Hannah, Big Bren, The Burdocks and The Lost Notes.

The Walsall Poetry Society say Pixievic's work is “As sweet as a kiss and as sharp as a razor blade.”

The fun starts at 8!

HELP OUTSIDELEFT

Outsideleft exists on a precarious no budget budget. We are interested in hearing from deep and deeper pocket types willing to underwrite our cultural vulture activity. We're not so interested in plastering your product all over our stories, but something more subtle and dignified for all parties concerned. Contact us and let's talk. [HELP OUTSIDELEFT]

WRITE FOR OUTSIDELEFT

If Outsideleft had arms they would always be wide open and welcoming to new writers and new ideas. If you've got something to say, something a small dank corner of the world needs to know about, a poem to publish, a book review, a short story, if you love music or the arts or anything else, write something about it and send it along. Of course we don't have anything as conformist as a budget here. But we'd love to see what you can do. Write for Outsideleft, do. [SUBMISSIONS FORM HERE]
