We hope you read this week's Sunday Morning Poet before reaching for whatever breakfast cereal you tend to start the day with.   That's all we'll say about it at this stage!

It's a joy to welcome Ian Henery,  presenter on Black Country Xtra, he also runs poetry workshops for people with addiction issues for Recovery Near You and the Wolverhampton Substance Misuse Service, including survivors of domestic abuse and women seeking to exit the sex industry in Walsall.  He was also Mayor of Walsall`s Poet Laureate for 4 years and performs with poetry collective Poets Against Racism.  We will also be talking to him very soon about his involvement with The Birmingham Black Box theatrical performance hub.

And, before we hand over the Ian, her will also be at the Apple Venus tonight for an evening of poetry, spoken word, acoustic music, and poetronica at the Melbourne In Lichfield

EAT WELL - MOVE OVER, GRANOLA
Oats, bananas, blueberries and flaxseed;
Broccoli, spinach, mango, ginger and lime:
Fruit and veg smoothies, everything you need
Blended with apple juice in record time
Come on, you know, healthier than cola
So eat well – and move over granola.

Jackfruit crumpets, sweet chilli, fresh rocket;
Leaf salads, spiced black beans, vegan mayo.
Bit on the side to suit any pocket,
Tasty plates – sala and avocado
Seen on TikTok and cooked in canola
So eat well, and move over, granola.

Crowd pleasers, cucumber slices and dips,
Guacamole oozes from quesadillas.
Hand battered halloumi and chunky chips,
Olives and mushrooms in corn tortillas.
Step right up, all of you rock and rollers
So eat well – and move over granola.

Life is the union of love and food;
Love healthy eating, love yourself.
We are what we eat, it affects our moods,
It’s true what they say – heath is wealth
We mustn’t leave it to fate’s  tombola
So eat well – and move over, granola

HELP OUTSIDELEFT

Outsideleft exists on a precarious no budget budget. We are interested in hearing from deep and deeper pocket types willing to underwrite our cultural vulture activity. We're not so interested in plastering your product all over our stories, but something more subtle and dignified for all parties concerned. Contact us and let's talk. [HELP OUTSIDELEFT]

WRITE FOR OUTSIDELEFT

If Outsideleft had arms they would always be wide open and welcoming to new writers and new ideas. If you've got something to say, something a small dank corner of the world needs to know about, a poem to publish, a book review, a short story, if you love music or the arts or anything else, write something about it and send it along. Of course we don't have anything as conformist as a budget here. But we'd love to see what you can do. Write for Outsideleft, do. [SUBMISSIONS FORM HERE]
