FOR GEORGIA
When she comes into the house
after executing that day’s plans,
my 12 year old walks round-and-round
the kitchen table, holding forth
with glee and something
very close to mischief.
Her movement is circular
but her chat betrays the fact
she’s actually advancing,
step-by-glorious-step,
on an unsuspecting,
an undeserving world.
