Baker's Xmas Dozen #8:
PETE DOHERTY
Just Another Face
This was for XYZ Magazine who wanted a feature on Adam Ficek (now apparently a psychotherapist). The deal was to do some shots and then get in to the Babyshambles gig. I’m really glad I went. The rapport that Babyshambles had with their audience. There was very little separation between the band and the audience. They weren’t there to see Pete, they were there to be with Pete. I love those situations. You get such an adrenaline rush, because you’re on - they’re not waiting for you. You’ve got to make sure you frame that shot right. I had a situation at the last gig I went to when I was trying to film Goat and some twat behind me was putting his pint in front of my camera so I couldn’t take anything. I said, you want to take this outside? And he just backed off. It was a stupid thing for me to say I’m 65 and he could’ve battered me, but I just wasn’t having it. I’m trying to do a job.
