The Outsideleft Night Out returns on Saturday March 15th and it’s thrilling to announce that we’ll be joined by acoustic Blues trio, The Swaps plus DJ Woodenhand. It’s all happening at 1000 Trades on the Park, in Lightwoods House in Bearwood. We’re taking over the whole ground floor, with DJ Woodenhand in the bar and The Swaps across the hall. This feels like fun.
THE SWAPS
The Swaps provide a unique twist on the acoustic folk blues trio ilk. Their sound is built around the mesmerising voice of Beth Brooks and her nuanced exchanges with the interwoven guitars of James Knight and Adam Philips. There’s an unflinchingly hushed intensity to their style. It is a breathtaking mix. The Bands’ Swaps Live LP can be found on Bandcamp here. A studio album is planned for later in the year. Unsurprisingly, their hometown shows sell out months in advance, they’ve also played at London’s world famous Roundhouse, so it is a real joy for us — and feels like a little bit of a coup, that The Swaps have agreed to play at the Outsideleft Night Out.
DJ WOODENHAND
DJ Woodenhand’s sets are legendary and this Saturday Night Special drawing from a sonic palette that incorporates funk, vintage soul, jump blues and jazz will have any self-respecting Night Outer waking up with aching joints on Sunday morning. It’ll have been worth it.

1000 TRADES ON THE PARK, BEARWOOD
1000 Trades on the Park in Bearwood has proven to be a great location for the Outsideleft Night Out. It’s a beautiful room within LIghtwoods House, with wonderful staff. Recent appearances from Pete Williams and Wolverhampton’s Me and Thee were exceptional.
