Bearwood
Saturday April 5th at 8pm til 11pm
The OUTSIDELEFT Night Out returns on Saturday April 5th with live music from 80s John Peel favorites, Jackdaw with Crowbar and Vinyl DJ sets from Woodenhand and Prehistoric Man.
It’s all happening at 1000 Trades on the Park, in Lightwoods House in Bearwood and it's a bit of an audio-visual extravaganza at a level we haven't tried before.
Jackdaw with Crowbar
"The best thing to come out of Leamington since the Grand Union Canal" - Stewart Lee
Jackdaw with Crowbar were acclaimed by Peel in the 80s. Timothy makes the music, Adam, if I say, does the vocals, that is barely scratching the surface of what happens during their show. Also in the band is legendary the original Selecter drummer, Aitch, he's on percussion. It's hard to know what their amazing visual artist, Paulina, who completes the band, will deliver on the evening. During their recent performance at Coventry's LTB Showrooms, Paulina trained her camera on the audience, projecting them onto a canvas at the back of the stage, caricaturing and ultimately painting in the crowd. Wow! Jackdaw with Crowbar is going to be loud, almost abrasive fun, it is as Roger Lomax says, "Bass culture meets EDM in a dark alley full of sequins".
DJ WOODENHAND
DJ Woodenhand’s sets are legendary and this Saturday Night Special, drawing from a sonic palette that incorporates funk, vintage soul, jump blues and jazz that'll have any self-respecting Night Outer waking up with aching joints come Sunday morning. It’ll have been worth it.
PREHISTORIC MAN
Joining us once more in the all important walk-in DJ spot will be Prehistoric Man; you will find his sound stylings on Bandcamp, expect the record bag he brings from his home in Hertfordshire to be jam-packed with a dubwise pivot around a selection pulsating rhythms from different corners of the globe.
1000 TRADES ON THE PARK, BEARWOOD
